Supporting decarbonization
Aviation is beginning a profound transition towards decarbonization. Airiane is involved in supporting more sustainable aviation. In 2023, our teams have developed an exclusive Eco-criterion which values the positive environmental actions of airports and airlines. It also informs travelers of the efforts undertaken by the airline sector. This objective supported by our transparent tool is based on the action levers defined by official authorities to decarbonize aviation and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Our teams worked on 4 dimensions – airport, airline, route and flight – to provide an exhaustive vision of the environmental footprint of air travel. The Eco-criterion is also a virtuous communication tool for airports wishing to precisely highlight their environmental approach. Today, 4 French airports have already trusted us and have integrated their Eco-criterion badge on their website. This is just the beginning !
Airiane, always looking for improvement and innovation, is preparing the version N°2 of the Eco-criterion for the start of 2024. New elements of analysis will be added and the weighting will be revised in light of the latest developments linked to the decarbonization of aviation. Our mission is clear: to support airports and airlines towards decarbonization while providing an ever more useful tool for air travelers.
